2 days

Moderate

Embark on a 2-day adventure to the Aral Sea and Muynak. Explore the Ship Cemetery, visit Lake Sudochie, and witness ancient nomadic life on the Ustyurt Plateau. Stay in a yurt by the Aral Sea and experience the beauty of the desert and stars.

This 2-day tour offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty as you journey to the shores of the Aral Sea.The Aral Sea, once one of the world's largest inland lakes, straddling Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, is now known as one of the most striking environmental tragedies of the 20th century. Historically, the Aral was a thriving ecosystem, supporting local communities with abundant fish and water for agriculture. However, starting in the 1960s, Soviet irrigation projects diverted water from these rivers to fuel cotton farming in Central Asia. As a result, the Aral Sea began to shrink dramatically. Explore Muynak, a symbol of the Aral Sea’s environmental tragedy, and visit the Ship Cemetery, where vessels now lie stranded in the desert. You'll also experience nomadic traditions, spending the night in a yurt by the Aral Sea, surrounded by breathtaking desert landscapes. With stops at ancient settlements and burial sites, this tour combines the allure of Uzbekistan’s remote beauty with deep historical significance!
