This is amongst the most spectacular trekking in Central Asia, in the beautiful Fan Mountains of Tajikistan. With our experienced, knowledgeable guides we offer moderate trekking routes through this stunning mountain scenery and introduce you to the local communities who live there. Apart from the mountains, perhaps the most striking feature of Tajikistan is the riotous rainbow of colors. Lakes in every color of blue, orchards, forests and flowers in vibrant shades and of course the people always dressed as brightly as their surroundings. We set off for the fresh air, crystal clear waters and snow capped mountains.

Day 1. Dushanbe – Penjikent (360 km)
On Monday early morning meet the guests at Dushanbe Airport. Drive from Dushanbe to the Zerafshan region. Breakfast enroute. Passing through Varzob, designated tourism zone and onwards through the Istiklol Tunnel, the road follows the path of the Fon River offering spectacular high mountain scenery and fresh air. Picnic lunch enroute. Continue drive to Penjikent. Arrive to Penjikent. Check-in at the guest house “Elina”. Resting time is a 1 hour (approximately).
Penjikent is the largest town in the Zerafshan Valley. It is situated between the High peaks of the Zerafshan and Turkistan Mountains. Learn about the fascinating history of the region with visits the Bronze Age Settlement of Sarazm (UNESCO Heritage) (6th B.C.) and the Republican History museum and the Mosque and Madrassa Olim Dodkho (17th – 18th c).
An opportunity to shop and explore at the Eastern Bazaar. During the sunset it is the best time to visit Ancient Penjikent is an excavation of large Sogdian Settlement dating from the 5-8 Century, there is charming museum finds from the excavations. Dinner at national Chaykhana (Teahouse) “Dilkusho” next to Zerafshan river. Overnight at the guest house “Elina”.
Day 2.penjikent – Seven Lake
Breakfast at 7 a.m. Departure at 8 a.m. Once you enter the region of the Seven Lakes starting trekking to the beautiful 7th lake “Hazor chashma (“thousand springs”)” (2139m) through the whole lakes. Photo stop on the lakes. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in the tent camping on the shore of the 7th Lake “Hazor chashma”.
Day 3. Seven Lake – Tovasang Pass – Archamaydon valley
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure at 7 a.m. Trekking from the 7th Lake via Tovasang Pass (3 300 m) to Obi Safed at Archamaydon area. Dinner and overnight in the tent camping near place Obi Safed at Archamaydon valley.
Day 4. Archamaydon valley – Gazza – Zimtud – Guytan
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure at 7 a.m. Trekking from from Obi Safed via the village Gazza and cross the village Zimtud to the village Guytan. Lunch – Picnic on the way.
Dinner and overnight in the tent camping at the village Guytan.
Day 5. Guytan – Chukurak lake – Kuli Kalon Lake
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure at 7 a.m. Trekking from Guytan village via Guytan pass (2200 m), easy slope to the “Chukurak” Lake. We will be surrounded by high snow capped mountain, Juniper trees and bushes. Lunch – Picnic. After lunch trekking to “Kuli Kalon” Lake via “Chukurak” pass.
Dinner and overnight in the tent camping on the shore of the “Kuli Kalon” Lake (2800m).
Day 6. Kuli Kalon Lake – Alouddin Lake
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure 7 a.m. Trekking from “Kuli Kalon” Lake to Aloudin Lake (2750 m) via Alouddin pass. From here you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of the Fann Mountains, with the high peaks covered by snow. Here is the Kulikalon Plateau. The plateau is dotted with 14 turquoise lakes framed by jagged ridges and summits between 4000m-5000m: Maria (4970m), Mirali (5120m), Rudaki (4900m), Adamtash (4700m) (the four peaks making so called “Kulikalon Wall”), Saryshah (4650m) and Aurondag (4573m).
Lunch – Picnic.
Dinner and overnight in the tent camping on the shore of the turquoise “Alouddin” Lake (2750m).
Day 7. Alouddin Lake – Mutnoe Lake – Alouddin Lake
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure 7 a.m. Radial trek to Mutnoe Lake (3500 m) and back to Alouddin lake. camp). Lunch – Picnic.
Dinner and overnight in the tent camping on the shore of the beautiful “Alouddin” Lake (2750m).
Day 8. Alouddin Lake – Iskanderkul lake (the Lake Alexander the Great)
Breakfast at 6 a.m. Departure 7 a.m. After breakfast easy slope to “Vertical” base camp where the vehicle is waiting. From the “Vertical” base camp drive to Iskanderkul. Walking around the Lake. Picnic Lunch on the lake’s shore. After lunch walking to the Zmeinoe lake (Snake Lake). Snake Lake is a small dark water lake. Then walking to the Fann “Niagara”.
The rough river “Iskanderdarya” flows out of the lake and forms unusually beautiful and majestic waterfall named “Fan Niagara” falling from 38-meter height. There is an observation deck above where visitors may spend time watching the water falling. In the evening drive to Saratog village (5 km).
Dinner and overnight at the guest house “Shahboz” in Saratog village.
Day 9. saratog village – Iskanderkul lake – Dushanbe
Breakfast at 7 a.m. Departure 8 a.m. After breakfast drive to Dushanbe. Lunch on route. End of the tour in Dushanbe.
