Route:  Ashgabat – Dashoguz – Kunya Urgench – Dashoguz – Darwaza – Ashgabat – Mary – Ashgabat – Turkmenbashy – Yangikala – Turkmenbashy – Ashgabat

Day 1  In – Ashgabat (air )

Arrival in Ashgabat by air.

Meet with guide and transfer to hotel for rest.

Day 2 Ashgabat

National Museum of Turkmenistan – (closed on Tuesdays & during National Holidays) with about 500 000 artifacts, dedicated to the Bronze Age, Antiquity and Middle age history of Turkmenistan. Other sections of the museum are Nature, Ethnography, Military, Jewellery sections. Second floor of the museum is a S/S platform from which the giant carpet “Turkmenbashi” can be observed.

Nisa ruins (III c) Parthian dates capital inhabited till the 19c. Diggings have revealed a grandiose architectural complex consisting of ceremonial hall, treasure house and residences. UNESCO cultural heritage.

Anau ruins is the medieval city located 12 km in the south–east of Ashgabat, well known by it’s medieval mosque called “Seitjemal-ad-din”.

Ertugrul Gazi Mosque has been constructed as a present to the Turkmen nation from the republic of Turkey. This unique complex consists of the mosque itself, a madrassah, cultural center with library, assembly hall for 250 seats and a park.

Alem Center with Ferris wheel – Ferris wheel known as ‘Alem’ (meaning ‘The Universe”) have large glass and white-steel casing around it and was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest Ferris wheel in an enclosed space at the time of the opening ceremony

Day 3 Ashgabat – Kunya Urgench – Dashoguz

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport and take flight to Dashoguz by T5 at AM.

Arrival and transfer to Kunya Urgench (about 1.5 hour). SS of:

  • Turebek Khanum Mausolum – the mausoleum is connected with name of the Turebek Khanum wife of the Urgench governor Kutlug Temur. The building consists of the big 12 side volume with the high portal, joining it from South and the small right angled building from the North.
  • Mausoleum of Fakhr-At-Din – Built in 12-13 centuries, it is small, almost square erection crowned with the 12 sided marquee. Th emausoleum is connected with the name of scientist Fakhr-ad-din.
  • Sultan Tekesh Mausoleum – 1172-1200y. – mausoleum presents semicubic erection, crowned with the high conic cupola.
  • Mausoleum of Najmitdin Kubra and Sultan Ali – the mausoleum ensemble of Najmitdin Kubra (XIVc) and Sultan Ali (XVIc)are located at the center of the Muslim cemetery in front of each other.
  • Kutlug Timur Minaret – 60m in height the minaret was buil in 1320-1330 by gold hord khan Kutlug Temur.

After sightseeing transfer back to Dashoguz

Day 4 Dashoguz – Darwaza  (250 km)

Breakfast at hotel.

  • Free at leasure
  1. Lunch at restaurant. Transfer to Darwaza (335 km = 5 hours) by 4×4 Jeep cars.

Arrival and accommodation in tents

  • Enjoy evening view to burning gas crater

Barbeque Dinner

O/n in tents.

Day 5 Darwaza – Ashgabat – Mary (250 km + air T5)

Breakfast.  Transfer to Ashgabat (about 4 hours). On the way you will see:

  • Yerbent village in the desert
  • Water Crater and Mud Crater
  1. Arrival and have lunch at local restaurant.
  • City tour by bus

Transfer to airport and take flight T5 to Mary at PM.

Arrival and check in hotel.

Day 6 Mary

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Old Merv and SS of:

  • Big Kiz kala (outside), Small Kiz kala
  • Erk kala, Gayur Kala
  • Sultan Sanjar mausoleum
  1. Lunch at local restaurant.
  • Mary regional museum.

Day 7 Mary – Ashgabat – Turkmenbashy (air T5)

Breakfast at hotel. Transferto desert by 4×4 cars (about 2.5 hours).

  • Yangikala canyons also called Flaming Mountains. This area is a breathtaking hills of pink, white, yellow and red colors. Enjoy the walk and view of picturesque Canyons
  1. Picnic lunch
  • Canyon Kemal-Ata – here, in the middle of the desert, water spring made a small canyon in the rocks. Sheep and camels come here for a watering. The unusual stone formations of eggs shape are the most interesting thing. They remind dinosaur’s eggs..
  • Gozli Ata – mausoleum and pilgrimage center

Drive back to Turkmenbashy (about 2.5 hours).

Day 8 Turkmenbashy – Yangikala – Turkmenbashy

Breakfast at hotel. Transferto desert by 4×4 cars (about 2.5 hours).

  • Yangikala canyons also called Flaming Mountains. This area is a breathtaking hills of pink, white, yellow and red colors. Enjoy the walk and view of picturesque Canyons

Caspian cruise by motor boat (1 hour)

  • Regional museum of history
  1. Check out hotel. Local fish dish for lunch. SS of:
  • Bus tour through the city

Dinner at local restaurant.

19:00 Transfer to airport and take flight to Ashgabat T5-248 at 21:20-22:20.

Day 10 Ashgabat

Breakfast at hotel. SS of Ashgabat:

  • Russian bazaar – main market of the city
  • Visit Horse Stable with famous Ahalteke horses
  • Kow Ata – underground lake in the cave
  • Take Cable Car to Kopet Dag mountains

Farewell dinner in the evening enjoy panoramic view of Ashgabat city from Observation platform
