1 Day Samarkand – Nuratau Mountain Village (220 km = 4 hours)
A.M. 08:00 Meet with driver at hotel lobby and drive to Nuratau Mountains area.
Nurata is located a hundred kilometers from Jizzakh. The Nurata Mountains are one of these unique natural features. It stretches between the Kyzylkum desert in the West and the arid steppe in the east.
There are several villages in Nurata lke: Asraf, Eski Voice, Hayat, September. The inhabitants of these villages maintain a rustic lifestyle and are distinguished by sincere hospitality. You can stay in the guest house.
The Nurata Mountains are a whole palette of sights, culture and impressions that remain in the memory for a lifetime.
P.M. Have lunch at the guest house. Activities you can undertake:
- You can visit the breeding enclosure of Severtzov’s argali, an endangered wild The huge enclosure is located near the guesthouse
- You can hike to the ancient petroglyphs (rock engravings) in the mountains (1-2 hours one way)
- You can watch or help prepare traditional dishes or assist in bread baking in the “tandir” oven
- You can simply relax on a tapchan under the shade of the walnut trees and read a book.
Have dinner and overnight in guest house.
2 Day Nuratau Mountain Village
A.M. Breakfast in the guest house.
Continue exploring mountain villages region:
- Again you can make hiking in the mountains, admire lush green landscape and a great view of Lake Aydarkul in the Kyzylkum desert
- If you tired of walking, you can rent a donkey or a horse and have a ride
- Or just stay in the guest house to see the daily livelihood activities of the rural people
Lunch and dinner at guest house are included.

3 Day Nuratau Mountain Village – Bukhara

After breakfast drive to Bukhara (about 4-5 hours drive)
Upon arrival in Bukhara driver will take you to your hotel.
